This is Me/That is You

“With life as short as a half-taken breath, don’t plant anything but love.”
~ Rumi
Wind of Devotion
This is Me/That is You
I feel it –
the wind shifting.
Cool breath on bare skin.
It’s more than weather.
It’s a call.
To take a chance.
To not need answers.
To let go
of the blueprint,
the map,
the plan.
I pull back –
not to escape,
but to see.
I’m here.
In a home I made
from instinct
and quiet decisions.
My compass?
Always been inside.
I just had to stop doubting it.
This is me.
That –
is you.
Two lone wolves.
Taking chances.
On life.
On love.
On being real.
We try to merge –
but sometimes even love
feels like a cage
when we forget
we were whole
before we met.
Freedom matters.
I need to be me.
You need to be you.
And what’s the point
of rewinding?
I see her –
the past version of me.
She’s not a ghost,
she’s a chapter.
But I’m the writer now.
The pen is in my hand.
The gift?
Is this moment.
This messy, electric now.
The future?
No clue.
But I’m walking toward it
with eyes wide
and no regrets.
I’ve been hurt.
Still am.
But I speak anyway.
To you.
And maybe,
just maybe –
one day you’ll get it.
What it means
to feel everything
raw,
real,
first-hand.
